So what even is a mini session?

Mini sessions are quick, pre-planned sessions on specific dates here in Charleston.

They’re perfect if you:

• just need a handful of really good photos
• want something easy without a full session commitment
• are visiting Charleston and want photos without planning your whole trip around it
• or your kids have a solid 10–15 minute window before chaos hits (I see you 😂)

And I fully lean into that.

We keep it moving, keep it light, and don’t overcomplicate anything.

My approach (aka: no awkward posing, promise)

I’m not going to make you stand there smiling at the camera the whole time.

You don’t need to perform.
Your kids don’t need to “behave perfectly.”

Honestly, some of the best photos come from the in-between moments:

• your toddler clinging to your leg
• your kid laughing at something completely random
• you fixing your child’s hair without even thinking about it

That’s the stuff you’ll actually care about later.

My style is:

• candid and connection-focused
• a little moody, a little nostalgic
• natural light, nothing overly posed
• real life > perfection, always

Charleston locations I love for minis

Charleston is kind of unfair in the best way… everywhere is pretty.

🌊 Beach sessions (Isle of Palms / Folly )

These are always a favorite. Kids can move, parents can breathe, and nothing feels too structured.

🌿 Downtown Charleston

More classic, a little dressier, still relaxed. Think walking, exploring, letting moments happen.

🌾 Open fields / nature spots

If you love that soft, dreamy, film-feel… this is it.

Timing (aka when your kids won’t hate this 😂)

I’ll always guide you, but here’s the honest version:

• Sunset = the dream light (and worth it if your kids can hang)
• Morning = brighter, easier, a little more go-with-the-flow

Minis usually happen in:

• spring (everything is green and soft)
• fall (holiday card season + best weather)

And they do book fast. Not in a fake urgency way—just because I keep them limited so they don’t feel rushed.

What it actually feels like

This isn’t one of those sessions where you leave thinking
“that was stressful but hopefully we got one good photo.”

Most of my families say:
“wait… that was it?”

In the best way.

You show up, we hang out for a bit, I guide you just enough, and then you’re done.
